PEACE WEEK Poster2

Movement for a Culture of Peace is launching a collective effort to create the first Delaware Peace Week, Sept. 18–25. We’d like you to join dozens of other groups and individuals in planning this ambitious collaboration, which will coincide with the observance of International Peace Week. Working together, we envision jointly designing and scheduling a variety of events, exhibits, concerts, and observances across the state—and perhaps even another peace parade in Wilmington!

MCP is hosting a kickoff planning event on Saturday, February 6, from 9 – 11:00 a.m., at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew on Shipley St. We’ll conduct a workshop-style meeting that seeks your wisdom and ideas, including what you are already planning to promote peace and justice in our community this year. Following this workshop, our goal is to form a diverse planning team that will develop and act upon a solid nucleus of ideas—with seven months to put Peace Week together.

We believe that planning Delaware Peace Week together will create opportunities for all of us to build community connections that will help us achieve both our individual and collective goals.

All are welcome. No pre-registration is needed. Questions? Email Jeff Lott or call Pacem in Terris (302) 656-2721.
